To make this, you will only need two ingredients: Marseille soap and organic peppermint essential oil. That’s all!

  • Marseille soap
  • Organic Peppermint Essential Oil

Here are the steps

  • Rub a knife against the surface of the soap to make the finest crumbs possible (be careful, don’t make a lot, this toothpaste is used in very small quantities)
  • Place the soap crumbs in a bowl with a few drops of water and mix. Some lumps may form, but over time the soap will dissolve in the water (you may need to add a little more water as you go).
  • Let it sit for an hour (add a little water if the soap is thicker than the one in the photo opposite). Add a few drops of peppermint (be careful, use very little, for example 3 drops for a small jar, because it has a strong taste. Essential oils are very concentrated and should therefore be used sparingly).
  • Place the mixture in a small, sealable glass jar.

A little tip: for the soap to crumble well, it must be dry. To do this, leave the soap uncovered for a few days before making the toothpaste.

To brush your teeth, put a tiny amount on your brush, you will be surprised how the toothpaste foams as soon as you rub.

The taste may bother some people at first (although you can mostly taste the mint). Don’t worry, you get used to it really quickly. After a few days, you won’t even notice it anymore.

Toothpaste can be stored for at least 3 months outside of the refrigerator.

I do not recommend this recipe for children, as they may swallow it.
