Il existe plusieurs recettes de savon à lessive à base de savon de Marseille. Celle que nous vous proposons est simple à faire, contient peu d’ingrédients et elle est 100% naturelle. Elle est également très efficace et zéro déchet.

What you need

  • 2 heaped tbsp baking soda
  • 1 heaped tbsp of soda crystals
  • 50 g of Marseille soap (in bars, cubes or shavings)
  • If you wish, add a few drops of lavender essential oil or simply take Marseille soap flakes scented with orange blossom or lavender.
  • 1 container of 2 to 3 liters, 1 saucepan, 1 measuring cup, 1 funnel and 1 grater.

Here are the steps to make this recipe a success:

  1. If you have chosen to use Marseille soap in bars or cubes, grate it using a cheese grater.
  2. Then measure 50g of Marseille soap shavings.
  3. In a saucepan, heat 1 liter of water without boiling it but until it is very hot.
  4. Then pour in the Marseille soap shavings and stir until the soap dissolves and forms a homogeneous liquid solution.
  5. In the salad bowl, pour the other 1 liter of water at room temperature.
  6. Add the baking soda and the soda crystals and mix.
  7. When the mixture is homogeneous, pour the contents of the salad bowl into the saucepan containing the Marseille soap dissolved in hot, but not boiling, water.
  8. Using a wooden spoon, stir again to fully incorporate the contents of the bowl.
  9. Once the mixture is homogeneous, pour the contents of the saucepan into your bottle using the funnel.
  10. If you wish, you can add a few drops of lavender essential oil, or the scent of your choice, if you did not use the scented shavings.
  11. Let stand for 24 hours.

Use

Since the mixture provides a concentrated solution, it’s also a very economical laundry detergent. Just one or two tablespoons in the washing machine drawer is enough for a normal load of laundry. Adjust the amount depending on the size of the washing machine, the soiling, and the quantity of clothes. Experiment a few times at first. Remember to stir the mixture before each use.

Additional tips:

– This recipe is ideal for white, black, and colored clothing. However, if you want to revive the whiteness of your clothes or sheets, you can add a handful of sodium percarbonate to the drum of the washing machine. It is a powerful stain remover that will reactivate the whiteness of the laundry.

– Despite all the benefits of this detergent, it is not recommended for delicate items, such as silk. Washing soda is a very powerful natural product that can damage delicate clothing fibers.

– This recipe can be stored for a long time without any problems. None of the ingredients in it can spoil. However, over time, the baking soda and washing soda crystals can lose some of their effectiveness. That being said, you can easily keep it for 6 months!
