Homemade shower gel with Marseille soap

Why choose Marseille soap for your body?

Marseille soap is made from natural vegetable oils, without artificial colors or preservatives. Its main advantages are:

With a homemade shower gel, you can enjoy these properties while having control over each ingredient.

Ingredients :

For approximately 250 ml of shower gel, you will need:

• 50g of Marseille soap (solid or flakes)
• 200ml of hot water
• 2 tablespoons of honey
• 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil of your choice (olive, sweet almond, jojoba…)
• 5 drops of essential oil (optional)

Preparation :

1. In a saucepan, heat the water until it is hot, but not boiling.
2. Add the honey and stir until completely dissolved. This will provide moisture and prevent lumps.
3. Add the grated or flaked soap and stir gently until completely melted.
4. Incorporate the vegetable oil of your choice and mix well for added smoothness.
5. Allow the mixture to cool.
6. When the mixture is lukewarm, add the drops of essential oil and stir gently (optional).
7. Transfer the gel into a clean bottle. Your homemade shower gel is ready to use!

Instructions for use:

• Shake gently before each use to homogenize the mixture.
• Store away from light and heat, in a glass or recycled plastic bottle.
• Shelf life: approximately 1 to 2 months.

Tip for a creamier mousse:

If you’d like your homemade shower gel to lather a little more, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable glycerin when you incorporate the oil. This will make the gel creamier while retaining its gentle and moisturizing properties.

Note: Homemade gel naturally foams less than an industrial gel, but it remains just as effective for cleansing and caring for the skin.
