Watermelon is a plant from the Cucurbitaceae family, which comes to us from Africa, more precisely from the Nile Valley. Renowned for its high water content (it contains up to 92%), it is said that around five thousand years ago, Egyptian farmers offered it to travelers who crossed their path to quench their thirst. Its cultivation then spread to the Mediterranean basin and then to all warm countries.
